Heritage Tourism
The aim of the cross-border co-operation project „“Promoting the use of cultural heritage in service design of rural tourism - Heritage Tourism“ is to increase the competitiveness of Estonian and Latvian rural tourism businesses using national cultural heritage in product development and in design of tourism services.
As a result of the project partners wish to:
> improve the skills and knowledge of rural tourism businesses about using national cultural heritage in design of tourism services;
> create operating co-operation networks between tourism businesses and research/conservation organizations dealing with cultural heritage;
> introduce tourism products based on national cultural heritage to tourists from Estonia, Latvia and neighboring countries.
The partners of the project „Heritage Tourism“ are the Estonian Chamber of Agriculture and Commerce, Non-profit organization Estonian Rural Tourism and Latvian Country Tourism Association "Lauku celotajs". The project will run until the end of 2013 and total budget is 702 934 EUR.
